Determination of the formation temperature from shut-in logs: Estimation of the radius of thermal influence

► We estimate the radius of thermal influence (RTI) in shut-in logs. ► We derive simple analytical equations, which allow estimating the RTI. ► We show that in many cases the fluid circulation period is too short and RTI and well radius ratio is small.
