Bergacarpon viladricii gen. et sp. nov., angiosperm seeds and associated fruits from the early Maastrichtian of the eastern Pyrenees (Catalonia, Spain)

► Mina Esquirol is a new Late Cretaceous locality bearing angiosperm seeds. ► The seeds described belong to a new genus and species, Bergacarpon viladricii. ► The seeds may correspond to a Monocot, probably a commelinid. ► One of the oldest monotypical angiosperm seed accumulations in the fossil record.
