C-doped ZnO ball-in-ball hollow microspheres for efficient photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical applications

C-doped ball-in-ball ZnO with controllable shell thickness and void space was synthesized using solvothermal strategy and shows excellent photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical performance.
