Wear performance of diamond coated WC-Co tools with a CrN interlayer

Three dimensional energy dispersive x-ray spectrum (EDS) of diamond coatings on WC-Co substrates with a CrN interlayer. The image was acquired by milling a number of slices and imaging each slice of the sample using “Auto Slice and View” software. The 3D EDS image revealed the presence of small amount oxygen at both interfaces of the CrN interlayer, owing to the surface contaminations of the sample surface during the transfer process.209
