Polylactide stereocomplex micelles (PLA SCMs) exhibit great potential for sustained drug delivery as a benefit of their improved stability. In this study, a cRGD-decorated PLA SCM (cRGD-SCM) was designed and prepared for targeted treatment of αvβ3 integrin-positive C26 colon cancer. The doxorubicin-loaded cRGD-SCM exhibited extended circulation time, selective accumulation in tumor tissue, and enhanced antitumor efficacy. In addition, the targeting component can be facilely replaced by other targeting ligands according to the different types of receptors on the membrane of tumor cells. All in all, the targeted SCM might have great potential in personalized chemotherapy of different malignancies clinically.306
