Theranostic tumor targeted nanoparticles combining drug delivery with dual near infrared and 19F magnetic resonance imaging modalities

This paper introduces PLGA-PEG-folate PFOB/ICG/Dox nanoparticles for theranositic purposes. Results showed that the nanoparticles could actively target to folate receptor of tumor and give 19F MRI signal (none of previous papers have showed this active targeting in 19F MRI in vivo) therefore improving the accuracy in diagnosis. Furthermore, the nanoparticles could be used in near infrared imaging for enhancing the specificity and combine with doxorubicin for chemotherapy.152
