An exercise in composite indicators construction: Assessing the sustainability of Italian regions

► We built an index to assess the relative sustainability of the Italian Regions. ► The methodology followed the OECD-JRC guidelines for composite indicators. ► The theoretical framework was based on the EU Sustainable Development Strategy. ► We checked for robustness of our composite indicator. ► Thus, we ended up with many rankings conveying the “uncertainty” within composites.
