Testing population variance in case of one sample and the difference of variances in case of two samples: Example of wage and pension data sets in Serbia

► We discussed new method for testing the population variance differences. ► Tests are based on t-statistics and bootstrap methodology. ► We applied the proposed tests to wage and salary data sets in Serbia. ► Bootstrap methods have minor advantages over traditional methods for small samples. ► In large samples, analyzed tests give similar conclusions.
