Trade policy reform and international trade tax revenue in Uganda

► This study sought to assess the effect of tariff reforms on customs revenue. ► It shows that the reforms have had no impact on equilibrium tax revenue. ► In the short run there is a negative association between the reforms and revenue. ► Uganda has scope to gain from tariff reform without losing revenue in the long run.
