The demand for climate protection-Empirical evidence from Germany

► An experiment to find the real demand for climate protection was conducted. ► The sample consists of the residential population in Mannheim, Germany. ► Participants could purchase European Union Allowances which were then deleted. ► Our experiment showed a median willingness to pay (WTP) of zero. ► The mean WTP is 12€/tCO2.
