Estimating the demand for gasoline in developing countries: Senegal

► I model the aggregate demand for gasoline relative to developing countries using a log linear form. ► Energy-demand and rising oil price is critical, both from a political, environmental and economic perspective. ► Short run elasticity is less than long-run elasticity and gasoline demand is inelastic with respect to both price and income for both short/long runs. ► This assertion seems to be real presently and that oil is such an important commodity and does not have substitutes at least for its use.
