In-situ synthesis of nickel modified molybdenum carbide catalyst for dry reforming of methane
چکیده انگلیسی

Ni-Mo2C catalyst has been in-situ synthesized through carburization of NiMoOx in methane and carbon dioxide feed gas for dry reforming of methane (DRM) at atmospheric pressure. Characterization and evaluation results indicated that the Ni-Mo2C catalyst is superior to the traditional metal carbide catalysts in the DRM process. XRD and TPR results showed that the addition of nickel had a positive effect on the in-situ formation of Mo2C.

Graphical AbstractNi-Mo2C catalyst was synthesized through the in-situ carburization of NiMoOx in CH4-CO2 feed. A catalytic oxidation–recarburization cycle can be established over the Ni-Mo2C catalyst due to the synergistic effects between metallic nickel and molybdenum carbide.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slideResearch Highlights
► Ni-Mo2C catalyst was in-situ synthesized in CH4-CO2 feed of DRM.
► The advantage of Ni-Mo2C over Mo2C is its stable performance at atomospheric pressure.
► Nickel facilitates CH4 dissociation to generate active species for carburization.
► A catalytic oxidation-recarburization cycle is established over Ni-Mo2C catalyst.
