Photoelectrocatalytic degradation of organic contaminant at hybrid BDD-ZnWO4 electrode

ZnWO4 particles were deposited onto a boron-doped diamond (BDD) substrate and used as photoanode to degrade X-3B dye in aqueous solution. It was observed that ZnWO4 with nanomicro-sized particles scattered on the BDD substrate. Linear sweep voltammetry and impedance spectra were used to characterize the photoelectrochemical properties of the hybrid electrode. An interesting photoelectrochemical property of the hybrid electrode was observed. And, in comparison with individual photocatalysis and electro-oxidation process, a clear improvement in the degradation rate of X-3B was observed in the combined process of photocatalysis and electro-oxidation.
