The unbiased nonparametric test and its moment generating function for the ordered alternative

An expression for the moment generating function (MGF) of various Jonckheere-Terpstra-type statistics is derived. A more accurate approximation can be obtained by using the MGF with higher order moments. The unbiasedness of Büning-Kössler-type statistic is investigated for the ordered alternatives.
