Enhanced chemiluminescence from reactions between CdTe/CdS/ZnS quantum dots and periodate

A novel chemiluminescence (CL) system of CdTe/CdS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) and periodate (KIO4) was studied. Strong and fast CL performance appeared when KIO4 solution was injected into CdTe/CdS/ZnS QDs directly and relevant CL mechanism was speculated to be radiative recombination of injected holes and electrons.
