MAO enzymes inhibitory activity of new benzimidazole derivatives including hydrazone and propargyl side chains

Fifteen novel benzimidazole compounds were synthesized in order to investigate their inhibitory potency against hMAO-A and hMAO-B enzymes. The compound 4e displayed significant hMAO-B inhibition, notable interactions in the active site, non-cytotoxicity, non-genotoxicity and a good predicted ADME profile.192
