Synthesis of nopol from β-pinene using ZnCl2 impregnated Indian Montmorillonite

The ZnCl2 impregnated Montmorillonite catalyst prepared by wet impregnation technique were used for the synthesis of nopol from β-pinene. Furthermore, the reaction conditions over this catalyst for this reaction were optimized to obtain 75% conversion of β-pinene with 97% selectivity for nopol.
