Phthalocyanine/chitosan-TiO2 photocatalysts: Characterization and photocatalytic activity

- Hybrid chitosan-phthalocyanine-TiO2 photocatalyst are elaborated at room temperature without any calcination treatment.
- After immersion in water, the alkoxide groups underwent hydrolysis and the (TiO6) octahedra started to join together.
- The enhanced activity of the hybrid catalyst is attributed to the cooperative role of the three components of the photocatalyst.
