Nondestructive chemical functionalization of MWNTs by poly(2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) and their conjugation with CdSe quantum dots: Synthesis, properties, and cytotoxicity studies

- MWNTs were functionalized by PDMAEMA in nondestructive manner via UV-driven SI-RAFT.
- CdSe QDs were coordinated with quaternized MWNTs-g-PDMAEMA via electrostatic self-assembly.
- The preparation of nanohybrids was confirmed by FT-IR, XPS, EDX, TGA, TEM, and SEM.
- MWNTs-g-PDMAEMA-MeI/CdSe nanohybrids showed excellent optical property.
- The cell viability assessment of the nanohybrids suggested their biocompatible character.
