Surface characterization and assessment of cell attachment capabilities of thin films fabricated by ion-beam irradiation of poly(l-lactic acid) substrates

▸ Thin films can be obtained by ion-beam irradiation of poly(l-lactic acid). ▸ Both surfaces of the thin film were carbonized by the irradiation. ▸ No significant changes were noticed in the topographies of the two surfaces. ▸ Fibroblasts attached firmly to the bottom as well as the top surface of the film.
