Hydrophobic and ice-retarding properties of doped silicone rubber coatings

▸ Superhydrophobic coatings were prepared of silicone rubber doped with different nanoparticles. ▸ Freezing of small water droplets on different hydrophobic surfaces was followed. ▸ A correlation between surface wetting hysteresis and faster freezing of water was observed.
