Characterization of azo dyes on Pt and Pt/polyaniline/dispersed Pt electrodes

► Platinum nanoparticles have been dispersed on polyaniline coatings. ► Platinum coatings have been characterized morphologically by means of SEM and AFM. ► XPS was employed to measure the oxidation state of the elements and the composition of the coatings. ► SECM measurements were employed to measure the electroactivity of the coatings. ► Amaranth and procion orange MX-2R dyes have been electrochemically characterized on Pt and Pt-Pani-dispersed Pt electrodes.
