Engineering of hydrophilic and plasmonic properties of Ag thin film by atom beam irradiation

► Synthesis of plasmonic surface by atom beam sputtering. ► Tuning of size of nanostructures with fluence. ► Characterization using atomic force microscopy, UV Visible spectroscopy, contact angle measurement and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy are reported.► Tailoring of contact angle of Ag nanostructures with surface roughness. ► Areal concentration of Ag is decreased with increase in fluence.
