Improving wear resistance of pure copper by laser surface modification

► Mechanical strength of copper was improved without deteriorating its conductivity. ► The wear resistance was enhanced by 4 times mainly due to precipitation hardening. ► The electrical conductivity is just weakly affected by laser surface modification.
