Sulfonation of polyester fabrics by gaseous sulfur oxide activated by UV irradiation

► In this paper, an original technique was present to improve the hydrophilic properties of polyester fibres. ► The modification of PET fabric was carried out using gaseous sulfur trioxide activated by UV irradiations. ► We fully characterized the modified and untreated fabrics.
