Effect of double source Titanium deposited in nitriding steels on their mechanical properties

► We report the strengthening of the nitriding layer in tree steels by means of use a double Ti source and a complementary diffusion method. ► Nitrided layers titanium reinforced shown several micrometers thick reducing the nitriding time, and increasing the mechanical properties. ► Fracture toughness evaluation present a significant increment in the treated samples.
