Novel liquid-solid adhesion superhydrophobic surface fabricated using titanium dioxide and trimethoxypropyl silane

► TiO2 nano particles were bonded to the hydroxyl groups of oligomer TMPSi. ► Functionalized NPs formed micro and nano structured aggregates during casting. ► The solvent used determined the superhydrophobic surface properties. ► Solvent xylene: self-cleaning surface. Solvent water: high adhesion. ► High contact angle hysteresis (aqueous solvent) was due to free OH groups on the surface.
