Superior high-temperature oxidation resistance of a novel (Al2O3-Y2O3)/Pt laminated coating

► A 7-layer (Al2O3-Y2O3)/Pt laminated coating was successfully prepared. ► The laminated coating provides excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance. ► The multi-sealed Pt layers effectively suppress the inward diffusion of oxygen. ► The laminated coatings exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance. ► The brittle/ductile laminated structure provides enhanced fracture toughness.
