Mixed phase, sp2-sp3 bonded, and disordered few layer graphene-like nanocarbon: Synthesis and characterizations

► We have synthesized Graphene-like nanocarbon (GNC) sheets from charcoal precursor. ► Transformation of charcoal to GNC is explained on the basis of Raman spectroscopy. ► Atomic scale analysis and electronic properties of GNC is investigates by STM. ► Morphology is studied by SEM and HRTEM.
