Variational calculation of energy levels for metastable states of antiprotonic helium

The numerical accuracy on the nonrelativistic energies is shown to reach 10−17, see p¯4He+ (36, 35) state. Thus the precison of our results is limited by the width of the metastable states, see p¯4He+ (38, 34) state. By using the Global Operator Method, the expectation values of Dirac delta function are calculated to high precision as well.91
