Insights into the spin dynamics of a large anisotropy spin subjected to long-pulse irradiation under a modified REDOR experiment

► Distances to a large-anisotropy spin are measured using a modified REDOR sequence. ► In LA-REDOR, a long pulse irradiation is applied to the coupled spin. ► A theoretical analysis of the experiment is presented. ► The recoupling curve depends on the ratios of anisotropy and RF with the spin rate. ► LA-REDOR is applicable to quadrupolar spins and one-half spins bearing a large CSA.
