Overcoming apparent Susceptibility-Induced Anisotropy (aSIA) by bipolar double-Pulsed-Field-Gradient NMR

► Strong internal gradients generate apparent susceptibility induced anisotropy (aSIA). ► Effects of aSIA in single- and angular double-PFG MR were studied in porous systems. ► The aSIA effects masked the microstructural information for both methods. ► Application of bipolar gradients recovered meaningful signal decay for both methods. ► Only bipolar-d-PFG MR reported on underlying structural features when eA was absent.
