Effects of nitrogen pressure during pulsed laser deposition on morphology and optical properties of N-doped ZnO nanostructures

► Dependence of the surface morphology on the nitrogen pressure has been exhibited. ► The UV band undergoes a redshift with the relaxation of the surface compressive stress. ► The dominated emission peak changes when the surface morphology changes.
