Experimental determination of interfacial energy for solid Sn in the Sn-Ag alloy by using radial heat flow type solidification apparatus
چکیده انگلیسی
► The equilibrated grain boundary groove shapes for the solid Sn in equilibrium with the Sn-Ag eutectic liquid with a radial heat flow apparatus were observed on quenched samples. ► From the observed grain boundary groove shapes, the Gibbs-Thomson coefficient, the solid-liquid interface energy and the grain boundary energy for solid Sn in equilibrium with the (Sn-3.84 at.% Ag) eutectic liquid have been determined. ► The thermal conductivity value of the eutectic solid phase (Sn-3.84 at.% Ag), KS, has been obtained. ► The thermal conductivity ratio of the equilibrated eutectic liquid phase (Sn-3.84 at.% Ag) to the eutectic solid phase (Sn-3.84 at.% Ag) has also been measured.
