Solute segregation at 46.8°(111) twist grain boundary of a phosphorus doped Fe-2.3%V alloy

► P segregates strongly at the 46.8°(111) twist grain boundary of b.c.c. iron. ► Obtained data suggest that the 46.8°(111) twist grain boundary is special. ► The enthalpy and entropy of segregation fit well with the compensation effect.
