Room temperature synthesis of composite nanolayer consisting of AgMnO2 delafossite nanosheets and Ag nanoparticles by successive ionic layer deposition and their electrochemical properties

In the article, we report a novel synthesis of Ag0x-AgMnO2·nH2O nanocomposite layer on the substrate surface by successive ionic layer deposition (SILD) using solutions of Mn(NO3)2 and Ag(NH3)2NO3. The obtained samples were characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD, FTIR spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. The investigation revealed that the nanocomposite is consist of silver nanoparticles with size 50-150 nm and nanosheets of AgMnO2 with a crystal structure of monoclinic delafossite. The specific capacitance of 880 F/g at current density 1 A/g and 1270 F/g at 0.25 A/g was shown during the electrochemical experiments with electrode, consisted of Ag0x-AgMnO2·nH2O composite nanolayers on the nickel foam. It also exhibit good cycle stability with 7% capacitance fade after 1000 charge-discharge cycles.
