Here, micro sphere CeO2 was prepared via a chemical precipitation method followed by calcination in air. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were utilized for micro structure and morphology investigation. The results showed that the prepared CeO2 had superior electrochemical performance compared to the bulk particles, delivering an higher initial discharge capacity of 607 mAh gâ1 at 0.2 mA cmâ2 and stabilized reversibly at about 500 mAh gâ1 after 50 cycles. Moreover, the rate capacity of the anode was also outstanding. The improved performance could be attributed to the special micro sphere structure. This exploring about the micro materials may direct a new generation anode materials of lithium ion batteries.
