The impact of paper prototyping on card sorting: A case study

► We did a user-centered design study to develop NFC-based meal vouchers. ► We varied the order of card sorting and paper prototyping in 8 groups of 4 users. ► Doing paper prototyping first resulted in deeper insights into participants' mental models. ► Paper prototyping seems to prevent coming up with new card sorting category names.
