Nutrition, traitement du cancer et maintien de l'indépendance fonctionnelle à long terme d'une patiente âgée

The fully successful cancer treatment in the older people, not only includes cancer remission, but the long-term preservation of functional status. Frailty, either existing before cancer diagnosis or due to the cancer or its therapy, and malnutrition, either due to cancer cachexia or to other causes, should be considered during the cancer treatment period but also at distance. Individualized advices may be given throughout the follow-up to preserve or to improve the patient's functional status. The case report of an older women with a two-year follow-up illustrates the interest of this approach.
