Bio-templated synthesis of lithium manganese oxide microtubes and their application in Li+ recovery

- Biogenic birnessite was used to synthesize microtube-type Li+ ion sieve.
- The biomineral facilitates LMO formation at a lower temperature.
- HMO-MT with high Li+ uptake capacity was obtained.
