Coupling anammox and advanced oxidation-based technologies for mature landfill leachate treatment

- Mature leachate was successfully treated by anammox coupled with AOP-technologies.
- Coagulation/flocculation + ozonation and photo-Fenton techniques were applied.
- Removal efficiencies were higher than 97 and 87% for COD and N, respectively.
- Panammox® and photo-Fenton coupling is the most cost-effective combination.
