Adsorptive denitrogenation of model fuels with porous metal-organic framework (MOF) MIL-101 impregnated with phosphotungstic acid: Effect of acid site inclusion

► Nitrogen-containing compounds can be removed with MOFs having PWAs. ► Selectivity for S-containing compounds was low with MOFs having PWAs. ► Acid-base interaction is possible mechanism for adsorptive removal. ► Used adsorbent can be reused for many times by washing with ethanol.
