Rapid separation and sensitive determination of banned aromatic amines with plastic microchip electrophoresis

► Banned aromatic amines were analyzed with microchip electrophoresis. ► Disposable plastic microchips were used together with low-cost LIF detector. ► Five FITC labeled aromatic amines could be baseline resolved within 90 s. ► Theoretical plate numbers around 8.0 × 105/m were achieved. ► Standard addition recoveries of waste water and textile samples were 85-110%.
