Composting of waste paint sludge containing melamine resin and the compost's effect on vegetable growth and soil water quality

► Melamine resins from waste paint sludge (WPS) can be efficiently composted. ► Melamine resins, however, can form clumps in the compost and slow degradation. ► Melamine resin degradation varied between 54 and 85% for the different treatments. ► The WPS-composts could be safely applied to soils to enhance crop growth.
