Development of a novel cyano group containing electrochemically deposited polymer film for ultrasensitive simultaneous detection of trace level cadmium and lead

► A novel cyano group containing adsorbent (P(DPA-co-2ABN)) was developed. ► P(DPA-co-2ABN)/GC-ME exhibited effective simultaneous detection of Cd and Pb ions. ► The cyano groups in P(DPA-co-2ABN) effectively bind heavy metal ions. ► P(DPA-co-2ABN)/GC-ME is suited for real sample analysis.
