Investigation of the degradation of pentachlorophenol in sandy soil via low-temperature pyrolysis

► PCP-spiked soil as representative soil sample of An Shun site in Taiwan was remediated by low-temperature pyrolysis. ► 90% PCP and PCP byproducts were removed from soil at 350 °C for 40 min. ► The PCP decay rate constant from sandy soil increased exponentially in the range of 200-400 °C. ► Very low level of dioxins was found in soil and gas phase.
