- A geodynamic model specific to Eocene subduction in the NW Himalaya was constructed.
- Subducted crust reached ∼2.6-2.8 GPa and ∼600-620 °C (∼90-100 km depth).
- Previously reported peak pressures up to ∼4.8 GPa are not geodynamically achievable.
- Fluid-poor granite would not have pervasively transformed during subduction.
- Tso Morari and Kaghan represent fragments of a coherent ∼400-km-long UHP terrane.
