Schiff base-chitosan grafted multiwalled carbon nanotubes as a novel solid-phase extraction adsorbent for determination of heavy metal by ICP-MS

► Schiff base-chitosan grafted MWCNTs were synthesized via covalent modification. ► The S-CS-MWCNTs were successfully characterized by FT-IR, TEM and TGA. ► The S-CS-MWCNTs were used for solid-phase extraction of metal ions. ► A method was developed detection of metal ions from samples coupled with ICP-MS.
