Mass transport of deposited particles by surface-to-surface contact

► Soft and hard surfaces used: cotton, synthetic fleece, plastic laminate and brass. ► Contact transfer values range from 2% to as high as ∼40%. ► Contact time has no effect on mass transfer efficiency for studied surface pairs. ► Mass loading does not appear to systematically influence the transfer efficiency. ► Results quantitatively show clothing as a significant source of contaminant transfer.
