Biodegradation of oxytetracycline by Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium: a mycoremediation technique

► Oxytetracycline uptake and degradation by Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium were measured. ► The role of extracellular laccase in degradation was evaluated. ► The almost complete OTC removal was obtained. ► A possible degradation product was identified in mycelia (ADOTC). ► The system can be considered the first step of an useful mycoremediation technique.
